Aïcha Koné is the first female West African singer who can compete in her homeland with stars like Myriam Makeba or Mory Kante. Her accompanists, the Alloco Band, include some of the most outstanding West African instrumentalists of the younger generation. Aïcha Koné sings of the beauty of black women, love, religion, and the need for pan-African solidarity.
